Specific Uses of the Substance:
Magnesium sulfate has a wide variety of uses in agriculture, food processing, personal care products, and
medicine. In agriculture, magnesium sulfate is added to soil to correct for magnesium deficiency(Kawamura and Rao, 2007). Crops that heavily depend on magnesium-rich soil include potatoes, peppers,tomatoes, and roses. Magnesium sulfate is also commonly added to potted plants. The high solubility of magnesium sulfate makes it an ideal compound for adding magnesium to the soil. Adding magnesium
sulfate to the soil improves the uptake of nitrogen and phosphorous by crops (Epsom Salt Council, 2009).
Công Thức – Recipe
Nguyên Liệu – Ingredients: Yield 820g Tofu and 200g Okara
Đậu nành hạt – 300g Soybean = 1.5 cup
Muối epsom – 1tsp epsom salt (Magnesium Sulfate)
Muối – 1 tsp Sea Salt
Nước – 3 Liters of Water = 12 cups
Soak soy beans overnight.
Remove the skins
Drain and rinse soybeans.
Blend the soybeans with water (3 cup) until smooth.
Strain the blended mixture using butter muslin or cheesecloth, or A tight-weave cloth.
Add water to squeezing out of more milk
The Okara (Pulp) is 200g
Choose Saute Program, Normal mode, bring the processed milk to a boil, constantly stir the milk, 15 – 20 minutes.
Then change to slow cook program, Less mode. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stir frequently
Turn off the heat
Prepare the coagulant solution: Sea salt + epsom salt + warm water (1 cup)
Add 1/2 coagulant, gently stir about 5 rounds
Wait about 3-5 minutes to check if the liquid clear or cloudy. If it is cloudy, add the rest of the coagulant and stir about 5 rounds.
Let the mixture rest about 3-5 minutes for the curd will be separated.
Pour the mixture into the cloth lined mold. Pressure down with heavy object, about 5 minutes.
Remove the blocks of tofu, put into a storage container, cover with clean water, keep in refrigerator up to a week.
Or air fry at 400°F, 13 minutes.
